Phidippus Apacheanus

These i6/i7 juveniles are well-established, confidently feeding, and a great size for both beginner and experienced keepers. They’re large enough to enjoy their personality and coloration while still having plenty of growing left to do.

The Apache Jumping Spider is a beautiful North American species known for its vibrant orange-red coloration, striking black markings, and adorable “puppy dog” eyes. Like all Phidippus, they are highly visual hunters that quickly learn to recognize their keeper and are an absolute joy to watch.

This species thrives in a well-ventilated arboreal enclosure with plenty of climbing opportunities, cork bark, foliage, and a secure place near the top to build its signature silk hammock. They do best at 70–80°F with 30–50% humidity and a consistent 12-hour light/dark cycle.

They eagerly accept appropriately sized live feeders including fruit flies, mini mealworms, black soldier fly larvae, and small crickets. Lightly mist one side of the enclosure every few days to provide drinking droplets while allowing the enclosure to dry between mistings. During premolt, they will retreat into their hammock and should be left undisturbed until they have completed their molt.
